Ourense is the thermal capital of Galicia and the third largest city in the Community in terms of population, with more than 100,000 inhabitants. It is nestled at the foot of the river Miño, in an area of great natural and historical importance. Its historical centre retains many vestiges of medieval splendour, amongst which should be mentioned the spectacular Basilica Cathedral of San Martiño. The city’s social life revolves around the temple, with a great gastronomic, leisure and cultural choice which increases annually.
Thermalism is the other great differentiating asset of Ourense when being nominated as the venue for professional meetings and incentive travel. The thermal springs of As Burgas have been linked to the history of the city from its origins. These have been recently joined by offers such as the thermal baths of A Chavasqueira or the Estación Termal de Outariz, linked by a large green area they are part of the Miño Thermal Route.
It has modern infrastructures able to accommodate large sized events like Expourense, a reference for services and capacity; and it has other large capacity sites, which convert the city into a very advisable option to hold meetings, fairs or congresses. Its charming character; enviable gastronomy; or the fact of being the capital of the world renowned wine region of O Ribeiro, turn the city into a very interesting option when looking for unique places that will leave exceptional memories in the minds of those attending.
